The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's great science museums. Its fossil halls hold some of the most famous dinosaurs on display anywhere, and a life-size blue whale hangs over the Hall of Ocean Life.
The Richard Gilder Center, with its flowing, canyon-like atrium, connects the galleries and houses insects, butterflies and collections on view. It was the second most visited museum in the U.S. in 2024.
